CoAT AB acquired

In August, Q-Sense's parent company, Biolin AB, acquired CoAT AB, a company that specialises in products and services related to advanced coatings technology for a variety of application areas in industry and academic research including biomaterials.

The purchase of CoAT has important implications for Q-Sense. CoAT is a major supplier and a development partner for advanced coatings used for measurement sensors that are at the heart of Q-Sense technology. As Fredrik Lindgren, Biolin's managing director says, "Through the purchase of CoAT, Q-Sense will have access to important development competence related to sensor surfaces, which is a high priority for Q-Sense's investment in biological and biotechnical applications." 

Within Biolin, the CoAT operation will be co-ordinated with Q-Sense so that the strengths of both companies can be fully exploited.
